With the rising cost of higher education, more and more people have been asking the question lately: How am I going to pay for my child's college education?

Did you know that USC is now more expensive than Harvard, Yale and Stanford? Tuition for the 2016-2017 academic school year will exceed $50,000! USC Provost, Michael Quick, stated in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that, “our students and parents are expecting value in their education, and the bottom line is it sometimes takes money to provide that value.”

With the rising cost of higher education, more and more people have been asking the question lately: How am I going to pay for my child’s college education? There is no easy answer to this, but Scholarships can be a great solution and The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, Inc.® want to help!

Since 1996, The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to worthy graduating high school students throughout Los Angeles County. For the 2nd year in a row, The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, Inc. is proud to bring back our Community Scholarship program for 2016!

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker strongly believes that the support and development of all our youth in California will help ensure a bright and positive future for our community. This scholarship is to empower community youth and provide resources to help them attend and stay in college.

The one-time scholarship will be awarded to three college-bound high school seniors or first or second year college or trade school students. These students must demonstrate their loyalty to a higher education by submitting either an essay or video answering one of the three prompts:

  • What do you see as the most pressing issue facing our country today and why?
  • The first 10 amendments to the constitution are called the Bill of Rights. If you had the power to add 1 amendment to the bill of rights what would it be and why?
  • If you could choose anyone to have dinner with, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

The student who receives the Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship Award will be granted $15,000 to help further his or her higher education. Second and Third place awardees will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a $2,500 scholarship to help with the cost of tuition.

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker has a long history in Southern California. For the 35 years the firm has been practicing law, The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker has successfully represented more than 100,000 clients, but not without the help of their dedicated team of over 100 attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. This scholarship is just another way that we “fight for you!”.
