A passenger in a Mercedes Benz was killed when the driver of the vehicle struck a taxi, sped away from the accident scene, and then struck an Audi SUV early Saturday, May 9th. The deceased victim has been identified as Sasha Gibson, 33. The crash occurred in Beverly Hills at the intersection of Swall Drive and Olympic Boulevard. It was described by witnesses as a road rage incident.

The series of events that led to the fatal crash is complicated. According to authorities, a white, four-door Mercedes-Benz struck a taxi at the intersection of Swall Drive and Pico Boulevard in an apparent road rage incident around 11:58 p.m. Friday night. The Mercedes left the scene, speeding north down Swall Drive after the now hit-and-run collision. When the vehicle approached the Swall and Olympic intersection, the Mercedes collided with the Audi before striking a concrete wall and several trees.

Gibson, sitting in the backseat of the Mercedes, was killed in the second crash. Authorities determined that she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver and two other passengers in the Mercedes were taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. No one in the taxi cab nor the Audi were injured.

The intersection of Swall and Olympic was closed for several hours for investigation and clean up. Authorities believe that the driver of the Mercedes was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
