Hydroxycut
Hydroxycut, the popular diet pill, has been recalled by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 14 different Hydroxycut products are being recalled due to the risk of liver damage, including the death of a 19 year old man in 2007, which was only recently reported to the FDA. Symptoms of liver damage include jaundice, brown urine, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weakness, abdominal pain, itching, and loss of appetite. Other reported health problems associated with Hydroxycut include seizures, heart disorders, strokes, and rhabdomyolysis (muscle damage).
The FDA is asking consumers to stop using all Hydroxycut products. Due to the lack of federal regulations regarding diet pills, having a powerful team of product liability attorneys on your side can help you protect yourself and your family in the unfortunate event of an injury. See the FDA warning here.
Hydroxycut, manufactured by Canadian company MuscleTech Research and Development, Inc. and distributed by Iovate Health Sciences in the United States is an over the counter dietary supplement sold in grocery stores, pharmacies, and health stores. Hydroxycut was sold over 9 million times in 2008.
