Byetta
Diabetes drug Byetta has been linked to acute pancreatitis. In October of 2007, the FDA reported events of acute pancreatitis, or sudden inflammation of the pancreas. At the time it was requested that Amylin Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of Byetta, add information about acute pancreatitis to the label.
The FDA recently announced that it intends to strengthen the warnings on the Byetta label. Reports of life-threatening pancreatitis have surfaced, including hemorrhagic pancreatitis (inflamed and bleeding pancreas) and necrotizing pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas that destroys itself) resulting in hospitalization and sometimes death.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis or has been hospitalized while taking Byetta, The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker wants to help.
