Actos
Actos (pioglitazone), a popular diabetes medication, has been linked to bladder cancer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers of Actos that using Actos for longer than year may increase the risk of bladder cancer. According to an ongoing study with over 193,000 participants, when pioglitazone is taken for more than 12 months, there is a 40% increased risk of developing bladder cancer. France and Germany have removed Actos from the market completely after a French study showd that the risk of bladder cancer continues to increase the longer Actos is taken.
