Honda Hybrid Gas Mileage
Honda Civic Hybrids were presented as a breakthrough in gas conservation and lower fuel costs, promising 50 miles per gallon while driving in the city. Unfortunately, reality didn't quite meet with expectations. Honda has proposed a class-action settlement to owners of the affected vehicles. Vehicle owners who choose to accept the settlement would receive a small cash award and a credit towards a new vehicle.
However, a recent small claims court decision awarded an aggrieved Civic owner a much larger verdict. The small claims judge agreed with the claimant's arguments that Honda used many misleading claims in its advertising, awarding her near the limit allowed in California small claims court.
