Baby Slings
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada recently announced a recall for one million baby slings manufactured by Infantino. The recall was initiated after three reports of deaths occurring in 2009 involving Infantino SlingRider and Wendy Bellissimo products.
According to the CPSC, consumers should stop using the recalled slings immediately and contact Infantino for a free replacement product. 14 deaths have been associated with baby slings in the past 20 years, most of them involving children younger than 4 months. Babies with weak neck muscles or respiratory ailments appear especially susceptible to injuries from baby slings.
