Hidden Online Restocking Fees
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer has issued a warning to holiday e-shoppers this year: "Watch out for hidden charges on returned merchandise!" Schumer has called for the Federal Trade Commission to require online merchants to disclose 'restocking fees' before a customer purchases a product. "Restocking fees are a gratuitous attempt to make a buck off the consumer," Schumer informed reporters. These fees are charged by many major online retailers, including Apple, Amazon, Dell, Newegg, and Best Buy.
The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker is investigating possible action against the practice of hidden online restocking fees. If you or a loved one have been charged a restocking fee that you were not adequately disclosed about, you may be entitled to compensation.
